By downloading or using CitationShield, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
CitationShield is an AI-powered citation verification tool for legal professionals. It uses a GPT-4o + RAG pipeline to verify legal citations against authoritative databases and provide confidence scores and explainable verdicts.
3. Not Legal Advice
CitationShield is a verification tool, not a legal research service. The AI verdicts provided by CitationShield do not constitute legal advice. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of any document you file with a court or submit to a client. CitationShield's verification results are provided as an aid to your professional judgment, not a substitute for it.
4. Accuracy Disclaimer
While CitationShield achieves high accuracy in testing, no automated system is 100% accurate. CitationShield may miss citations, misclassify valid citations as invalid, or fail to detect hallucinated citations in all cases. You must exercise independent professional judgment before relying on any verification result.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Subscriptions are billed through Apple's in-app purchase system. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation policies are governed by Apple's App Store Terms of Service. CitationShield does not process payments directly.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use CitationShield to process documents you do not have the right to process, to attempt to reverse-engineer the AI pipeline, to circumvent usage limits, or for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual Property
CitationShield, its AI models, software, and all associated intellectual property are owned by CitationShield, Inc. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the iOS application for your personal professional use.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITATIONSHIELD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY SANCTIONS, MALPRACTICE CLAIMS, OR PROFESSIONAL CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON VERIFICATION RESULTS.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
